Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Sidney Dunn got the match started through his kick off. Mickey Bramble took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sidney Dunn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mickey Bramble made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sidney Dunn in the 9th minute of play. 10 minutes into the game, Ron Stonehouse was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fowey FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AFC Wimbledon Wombles the free kick. The supporters of AFC Wimbledon Wombles booed when Fowey FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ron Stonehouse didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Nicholas Joynes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 22nd minute Sidney Dunn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mickey Bramble saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 26 played minutes Fowey FC got a freekick which was hit by Jamie Berryman. The audience was convinced that Calvin Beckett's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dale Nelson was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. After 29 minutes, Seth Moxon mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AFC Wimbledon Wombles and the Fowey FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 29th minute, Seth Moxon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in AFC Wimbledon Wombles's zone, Nicholas Joynes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dale Nelson came out of the goal and Nicholas Joynes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, David Beckett managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fowey FC's supporters rose to their feet, but David Beckett was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dale Nelson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Fowey FC's Jamie Berryman got a free kick in the 34th minute. Mickey Bramble came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by AFC Wimbledon Wombles's Sidney Dunn. But to his dismay, Sidney Dunn quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. If Nicholas Joynes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nicholas Joynes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Seth Moxon made in the 54th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Jon Newman. Nat Connor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 56 minutes into the game, Brendon Crouch was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AFC Wimbledon Wombles's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fowey FC the free kick. Adrian Barat hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. 66 minutes into the match, AFC Wimbledon Wombles's Brendon Crouch broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Nicholas Joynes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Dale Nelson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Nicholas Joynes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in AFC Wimbledon Wombles's zone, Nicholas Joynes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dale Nelson came out of the goal and Nicholas Joynes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 89 minutes into the match, AFC Wimbledon Wombles's goal looked a bit too open when Nicholas Joynes came free, but Dale Nelson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nat Connor in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dale Nelson saved AFC Wimbledon Wombles from getting behind. The Fowey FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching AFC Wimbledon Wombles's performance. The match ended with a win for AFC Wimbledon Wombles.
