Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Huey Hughes got the match started through his kick off. In the 3rd minute of the match Stephen Stevens sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Toby Topham skillfully saved the ball. After 6 minutes of play, K.S.V Waregem's Huey Hughes made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. John-Paul Nevin was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 9 minutes, Syd Kinsey mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Polzeath and the K.S.V Waregem players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 9 played minutes Polzeath got a freekick which was hit by Syd Kinsey. John-Paul Nevin came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by K.S.V Waregem's Huey Hughes. But to his dismay, Huey Hughes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Richard Rogers struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Toby Topham didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Polzeath. 15 minutes into the match, Polzeath's goal looked a bit too open when Trevor Kempson came free, but John-Paul Nevin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonathan Canning charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jonathan Canning the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 19 played minutes K.S.V Waregem got a freekick which was hit by Jonathan Canning. Richard Rogers could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Toby Topham made a huge save. 21 minutes into the match, K.S.V Waregem's goalkeeper Toby Topham had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Syd Kinsey. Toby Topham made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Darius Bell sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Syd Kinsey managed to get in a good position for a shot. Polzeath's supporters rose to their feet, but Syd Kinsey was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Toby Topham breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Richard Rogers's late challenge caught a K.S.V Waregem's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Richard Rogers helped the player get up and apologised. Richard Rogers kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. John-Paul Nevin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adrian Claydon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 36 minutes of play, K.S.V Waregem's Huey Hughes made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. John-Paul Nevin was left in no man's land by his defense there! Toby Topham made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Darius Bell sent off a good shot on target. John-Paul Nevin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Huey Hughes in the 41st minute of play. John-Paul Nevin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Huey Hughes, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Darius Bell got free with Toby Topham in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Richard Rogers to make the kick off. If Huey Hughes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan Canning hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. If Franz Scargill had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Huey Hughes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without John-Paul Nevin having to interfere. Toby Topham showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Richard Rogers in the 72nd minute of the match. The referee felt a red card was in order, 76 minutes into the game, when Stephen Stevens put in a rough tackle. After 75 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Polzeath! Matty Bridge shot the penalty kick right outside the post. If Darius Bell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Syd Kinsey hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Polzeath's John-Paul Nevin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Polzeath from getting a goal against them. K.S.V Waregem played a much better game than Polzeath and deserved their victory. The Polzeath players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
