Dom Cunningham's late challenge caught a Bury AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dom Cunningham helped the player get up and apologised. In the 38th match minute, AFC Ascoli was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dom Cunningham to maneuver through the defense. Tom Haywood might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dale Tompkins. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dale Tompkins was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Vic Carragher showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 76 minute of play. Dale Tompkins made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Dominic Seaman sent off a good shot on target. In the 87th match minute, Bury AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Keanu Bannatyne to maneuver through the defense. Dominic Seaman might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dale Tompkins. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dominic Seaman ran back to his position shaking his head. The Bury AFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Bury AFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
