Wesley Robinson started the match with the kick off. Sidney Bancroft hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. Pete Eslworth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leon Vickers, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Zack Langdon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Philip Carter having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Leon Vickers managed to get in a good position for a shot. Qurbo FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Leon Vickers was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pete Eslworth breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Zack Langdon might have been able to make a better finish in the 24th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Philip Carter. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zack Langdon ran back to his position shaking his head. Wesley Robinson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sidney Bancroft kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wesley Robinson in the 27th minute of play forced Yardley's goalkeeper Pete Eslworth to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30th minute, Leon Vickers ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pete Eslworth was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 33rd minute, Abraham Banks hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Qurbo FC's Philip Carter proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Qurbo FC from getting a goal against them. In the 39th match minute, Qurbo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matthew Hamer to maneuver through the defense. Pete Eslworth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wesley Robinson, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. After 45 played minutes Qurbo FC got a freekick which was hit by Sidney Simpson. Tristram Yeo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 46th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Philip Carter. Qurbo FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 51st minute Zack Langdon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Philip Carter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zack Langdon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Philip Carter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Yardley getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Graham Brighton hit a great ball. 63 minutes into the game, Yardley's Dave Willets nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Philip Carter made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Leon Vickers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pete Eslworth having to interfere. 73 minutes into the game, Lucas Slater was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Qurbo FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Yardley the free kick. In the 73rd minute, Lucas Slater hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zack Langdon struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Philip Carter didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Yardley. Philip Carter stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ian Caton's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. Pete Eslworth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wesley Robinson in the 88th minute of play. Philip Carter didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Zack Langdon went, in the 91st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in Qurbo FC's zone, Ian Caton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Philip Carter came out of the goal and Ian Caton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
