Leo Freeman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Albert Ford made a huge save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Isaac Longstaffe during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 6 played minutes Legia got a freekick which was hit by Isaac Longstaffe. After 7 played minutes, Liverpool1978's Rufus Hibbert shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Trev Fitter came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Liverpool1978 reached it. After 11 played minutes Liverpool1978 got a freekick which was hit by Sebastien Blake. Albert Ford took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leo Freeman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 16th minute, Rufus Hibbert made a precise shot to the right of Trev Fitter. Legia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Garry Cheesman might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Trev Fitter. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Garry Cheesman ran back to his position shaking his head. Albert Ford showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from CJ Brady, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Albert Ford showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from CJ Brady in the 24th minute of the match. After 25 played minutes Liverpool1978 got a freekick which was hit by Darren Everard. 30 minutes into the game, CJ Brady recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Albert Ford. CJ Brady showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. 33 minutes into the match, Liverpool1978's goal looked a bit too open when CJ Brady came free, but Albert Ford reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Garry Cheesman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The wind increased when Garry Cheesman made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Liverpool1978 getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Garry Cheesman hit a great ball. In the 53rd minute CJ Brady shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albert Ford saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Trev Fitter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Garry Cheesman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. During the 65th minute of the match Darren Everard completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Darren Everard a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Legia booed when Liverpool1978 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Darren Everard didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 67th minute of the match Brendon Coton sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Albert Ford skillfully saved the ball. Garry Cheesman blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Trev Fitter having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Garry Cheesman in the 73rd minute of play forced Legia's goalkeeper Trev Fitter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Garry Cheesman in the 82ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Trev Fitter, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save.
