Legia's Trev Fitter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Spike Holyfield in the 5th minute of play. Phil Blowman was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 8th minute. Legia's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Jay Attwood hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Michael Wardle hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Ivan Hartley might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Trev Fitter. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ivan Hartley ran back to his position shaking his head. After 20 played minutes, Legia's Brendon Coton shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Norman Delamore came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Legia reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by CJ Brady in the 22nd minute of play forced Romsey FC's goalkeeper Norman Delamore to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Phil Blowman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Norman Delamore made a huge save. CJ Brady was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 28th minute. Legia's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Phil Blowman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Norman Delamore tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Norman Delamore made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Phil Blowman sent off a good shot on target.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for CJ Brady to strike the kick off in the second half. If CJ Brady had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Ivan Hartley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 67 minutes, Ivan Hartley managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Romsey FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ivan Hartley was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 68 played minutes Legia got a freekick which was hit by Alf Gunn. CJ Brady fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Norman Delamore having to interfere. In the 74th minute, Jay Attwood hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Legia's zone, Ivan Hartley stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Trev Fitter came out of the goal and Ivan Hartley tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Romsey FC's Norman Delamore played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by CJ Brady in the 88th minute of play. Legia's Michael Wardle got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Romsey FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
