Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jools Button in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Shane Ruddock prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Joe Bridgewater made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Jack Carey-Bertram sent off a good shot on target. 42 minutes into the match, Niall Pryor had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Shane Ruddock. Ambleside's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Niall Pryor was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. A collision led to Ambleside getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Conal Gray hit a great ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Conal Gray to strike the kick off in the second half. Shane Ruddock made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niall Pryor in the 53rd minute of play. Niall Pryors short, quick shot in the 54thth minute got Shane Ruddock to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Damian Patterson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joe Bridgewater having to interfere. A collision led to Ambleside getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Quentin Van Der Hoorn hit a great ball. West Buckland AFC's Jools Button got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 69th minute, Jools Button hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. West Buckland AFC's Joe Bridgewater played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Conal Gray in the 71st minute of play. Niall Pryor could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Shane Ruddock made a huge save. Shane Ruddock made an important save on a dangerous shot by Niall Pryor in the 80th minute. Shane Ruddock was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Niall Pryor showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-4 in the 83 minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Conal Gray in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joe Bridgewater saved West Buckland AFC from getting behind. Shane Ruddock showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andre Duke, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Niall Pryor might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Shane Ruddock. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Niall Pryor ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 91stth minute of the game Niall Pryor who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ambleside's Shane Ruddock was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
