Spectators: 6982 (Terracing: 5982, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Garry Cheesman made the kick off which started today's match. In the 3rdth minute of the game Garry Cheesman who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Wombwell United's Kris Patten was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Kris Blueman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kris Patten showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Garry Cheesman, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Albert Ford was a little too slow when Kris Blueman got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 9th minute. The score was now 1-0. Sebastien Blake fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kris Patten having to interfere. Sebastien Blake recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rufus Hibbert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kris Patten having to interfere. In the 24thth minute of the game Garry Cheesman who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Wombwell United's Kris Patten was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Albert Ford showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kris Blueman, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Wombwell United's Jerry Knight-Percival got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ronny Reddington sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rufus Hibbert charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rufus Hibbert the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Rufus Hibbert hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Liverpool1978's Garry Cheesman got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Kris Patten showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rufus Hibbert in the 35th minute of the match. 38 minutes into the game, Sebastien Blake threw the ball into play from the sideline. Wombwell United's Marek Newman quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Garry Cheesman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Kris Patten tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Albert Ford showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronny Reddington, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Albert Ford came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by Wombwell United's Jerry Knight-Percival. But to his dismay, Jerry Knight-Percival quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronny Reddington in the 65th minute of play forced Liverpool1978's goalkeeper Albert Ford to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 67 minutes into the match, Liverpool1978's goal looked a bit too open when Ronny Reddington came free, but Albert Ford reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Albert Ford didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jerry Knight-Percival went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. When Vernon Rushmere fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wombwell United's protests and gave Vernon Rushmere a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Liverpool1978 booed when Wombwell United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vernon Rushmere didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Liverpool1978 fans' excitement grew in the 86th match minute when Liverpool1978's Garry Cheesman looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Ronny Reddington took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Albert Ford. Albert Ford dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. For all the effort they put into the match, the Liverpool1978 players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Wombwell United.
