Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Martyn Sheene kicked off to start the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teddy Timiney in the 3rd minute of play forced Thirsk's goalkeeper Den Watson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Teddy Timiney received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Den Watson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 6th minute, Martyn Sheene left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Kings Lynn fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Den Watson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teddy Timiney, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. In the 11th minute, Spike Clough left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Thirsk fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. 18 minutes into the game, Jochen Göring cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Den Watson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Americo Fidensio was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Warren Allott showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-3 in the 24 minute of play. Den Watson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teddy Timiney, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Americo Fidensio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Spike Clough in the 34th minute. In the 35th match minute, Thirsk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Doug Dunn to maneuver through the defense. Hans Kvalsvik was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 36th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After having played for 37 minutes, Teddy Timiney managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kings Lynn's supporters crossed their fingers, but Teddy Timiney was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Den Watson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teddy Timiney in the 39th minute of play. In the 40th minute Jochen Göring shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Den Watson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Den Watson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Teddy Timiney went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-5 was the resulting score. The audience thought a goal was coming when Spike Clough got free with Americo Fidensio in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Den Watson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martyn Sheene, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

After 51 minutes, Martyn Sheene made it 2-6 with a short kick to the right side. Thirsk's Den Watson tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Through an outstanding action, after 55 minutes, Den Watson successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Thirsk's Den Watson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Thirsk from getting a goal against them. Den Watson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jochen Göring in the 57th minute of play. After 59 played minutes Thirsk got a freekick which was hit by Doug Dunn. With a little luck, Thirsk's Den Watson got control of the ball when Hans Kvalsvik tried to sneak it across the goal line. Kevin Pell hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Den Watson didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 65th minute, which inside left pole to 2-7. Teddy Timiney sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 71st minute, Jochen Göring made a precise shot to the right of Den Watson. Thirsk's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-8. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jochen Göring during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jochen Göring kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. 79 minutes into the match, Thirsk's goal looked a bit too open when Martyn Sheene came free, but Den Watson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Den Watson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Teddy Timiney in the 82nd minute. In the 83rd minute, Kings Lynn's Jochen Göring ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Den Watson. Den Watson yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-10. In the 87th minute, Jochen Göring ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Den Watson was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-11. Teddy Timiney could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Den Watson made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martyn Sheene in the 93rd minute of play forced Thirsk's goalkeeper Den Watson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 94 minutes into the game, Ben Hotte recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Den Watson. Ben Hotte showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-12.
