Spectators: 6841 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1841, VIP seats: 0) Kristopher Rowell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivan Hartley in the 4th minute of the match. 7 minutes into the match, Fakenham's goal looked a bit too open when Jay Attwood came free, but Kristopher Rowell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Spike Holyfield had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Kristopher Rowell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivan Hartley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 40th minute Ivan Hartley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kristopher Rowell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rupert Barton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Norman Delamore having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ivan Hartley made a kick off. Kristopher Rowell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Spike Holyfield in the 52nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ivan Hartley in the 55th minute of play forced Fakenham's goalkeeper Kristopher Rowell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 56 minutes into the game, Nial Francis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Romsey FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fakenham the free kick. Nial Francis kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Jay Attwood sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 62 minutes, Jay Attwood mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Romsey FC and the Fakenham players grew even worse after the yellow card. 66 minutes into the match, Spike Holyfield had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kristopher Rowell. Fakenham's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Spike Holyfield was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. After 73 played minutes Romsey FC got a freekick which was hit by Ivan Hartley. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind Fakenham's goalkeeper Kristopher Rowell, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jay Attwood hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Wes Hurren could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Norman Delamore made a huge save. Kristopher Rowell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Spike Holyfield, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. After having played for 92 minutes, Rupert Barton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fakenham's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rupert Barton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Romsey FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Fakenham for a fine match.
