Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Ivan Hartley kicked off to start the match. 3 minutes into the game, Spike Holyfield was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Romsey FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ambleside the free kick. In the 4th match minute, Romsey FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Spike Holyfield to maneuver through the defense. 5 minutes into the match, Romsey FC's goal looked a bit too open when Damian Patterson came free, but Norman Delamore reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Romsey FC getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Nial Francis hit a great ball. In the 10th minute, Jack Carey-Bertram made a precise shot to the right of Norman Delamore. Romsey FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Jack Carey-Bertram's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 14thth minute, Norman Delamore skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 20 minutes into the match, Ivan Hartley notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Ambleside's Shane Ruddock. Shane Ruddock was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ambleside's attentive Benjamin Moss managed to snatch the ball when Iain Dumpleton made a throw-in in the 23rd minute of the game. Norman Delamore took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Conal Gray, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Romsey FC's Norman Delamore proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Romsey FC from getting a goal against them. Shane Ruddock took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Spike Holyfield, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Romsey FC's Spike Holyfield got his second yellow card of the match in the 34th minute. The referee ordered Spike Holyfield off the ground. Ambleside's Rory Bowler quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Iain Dumpleton, made in the 39th minute of the game. Norman Delamore took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Conal Gray, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Jack Carey-Bertram had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Conal Gray to make the kick off. If Jack Carey-Bertram had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 56th minute, Nial Francis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Romsey FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Conal Gray took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Norman Delamore. Norman Delamore dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Ivan Hartley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 73rd minute Conal Gray shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Norman Delamore saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jack Carey-Bertram fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Norman Delamore having to interfere. Conal Gray sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ivan Hartley received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Shane Ruddock came out and tried to block the shot, but Ivan Hartley slotted it home off the left post making it 2-3 in the 80th minute. Romsey FC's Norman Delamore played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Conal Gray in the 83rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Romsey FC's zone, Jack Carey-Bertram stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Norman Delamore came out of the goal and Jack Carey-Bertram tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Conal Gray took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Norman Delamore. Norman Delamore dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-3. In the 93rd minute Conal Gray shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Norman Delamore saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jack Carey-Bertram in the 96th minute of play forced Romsey FC's goalkeeper Norman Delamore to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jack Carey-Bertram sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Despite being the better team, Ambleside failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
