Spectators: 7987 (Terracing: 5991, Seating: 1837, VIP seats: 159) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Warren Allott made the kick off which started today's match. Trev Fitter showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Warren Allott, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Trev Fitter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Warren Allott, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 10th minute Warren Allott shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Trev Fitter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Trev Fitter showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dominic Frost, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Legia's zone, Spike Clough stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Trev Fitter came out of the goal and Spike Clough tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by CJ Brady in the 15th minute of play forced Thirsk's goalkeeper Den Watson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Trev Fitter stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dominic Frost's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. With an all-out effort, Legia's Den Watson threw himself towards the right post 23 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from CJ Brady, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Den Watson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from CJ Brady, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 30 minutes into the match, Thirsk's goalkeeper Den Watson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Phil Blowman. 31 minutes into the match, Phil Blowman notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Thirsk's Den Watson. Den Watson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Doug Dunn during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 41st minute, Doug Dunn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Den Watson came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by Legia's Phil Blowman. But to his dismay, Phil Blowman quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for CJ Brady to strike the kick off in the second half. Warren Allott received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Trev Fitter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With 55 minutes on the clock, Ted Lyons commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 55th minute, one of Legia:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Legia. In the 57th minute, the referee gave Thirsk a penalty. Warren Allott looked confident and blasted the ball into goal by the left post, totally unstoppable for Trev Fitter. Trev Fitter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Spike Clough in the 59th minute of the match. 60 minutes into the match, Warren Allott dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Trev Fitter, 2-2. 65 minutes into the match, Legia's goalkeeper Trev Fitter had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Spike Clough. Trev Fitter stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Warren Allott's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. In the 69th match minute, Thirsk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Warren Allott to maneuver through the defense. Den Watson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Phil Blowman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Spike Clough who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 75thth minute tested the skills of Trev Fitter when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 80 minutes into the match, Legia's goal looked a bit too open when Warren Allott came free, but Trev Fitter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Legia getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Tom Connett hit a great ball. Michael Wardle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Den Watson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Warren Allott recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 95 minutes of play, Legia's Phil Blowman made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Den Watson was left in no man's land by his defense there! Many of Thirsk's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Thirsk may have spent more time on the ball, but Legia were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
