In the 50th minute there was a penalty for Kings Lynn. Hans Kvalsvik stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Shane Ruddock. 1-6. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-6 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Martyn Sheene made a kick off. Shane Ruddock made an important save on a dangerous shot by Teddy Timiney in the 56th minute. Hans Kvalsvik was slow to take the kick. During this time Kings Lynn's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Kings Lynn's corner Jochen Göring fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Shane Ruddock quite easily take care of the ball. With a little luck, Ambleside's Shane Ruddock got control of the ball when Teddy Timiney tried to sneak it across the goal line. 81 minutes into the match, Ambleside's goalkeeper Shane Ruddock had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hans Kvalsvik. Shane Ruddock was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Teddy Timiney got free with Shane Ruddock in the 101st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Ambleside fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Kings Lynn were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
