Spectators: 6838 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1838, VIP seats: 0) FC ZUPANY's David Gettins started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. David Gettins might have been able to make a better finish in the 2nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Matthew Dimmock. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. David Gettins ran back to his position shaking his head. David Gettins's late challenge caught a Cullompton United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. David Gettins helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in Cullompton United fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 11th minute. Penalty! The referee gave FC ZUPANY a penalty, 13 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Darius Byfield, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Cullompton United's Matthew Dimmock. 0-1. Stu Swinscoe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paddy Carpenter having to interfere. When Grant Hamilton came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Cullompton United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Grant Hamilton couldn't finish the play. In the 26th minute, Jasper Rawson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Matthew Dimmock was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. After a rather tough play, Cullompton United's Steve Crossman got a free kick in the 31st minute. Jasper Rawson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Matthew Dimmock made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Gettins in the 40th minute of play. Matthew Dimmock showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jasper Rawson, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. If Stu Swinscoe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The wind increased when Stu Swinscoe made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Grant Hamilton in the 52nd minute of play forced FC ZUPANY's goalkeeper Paddy Carpenter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jasper Rawson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Paddy Carpenter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Grant Hamilton in the 66th minute of the match. In the 68th play minute Jasper Rawson came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Matthew Dimmock. 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Grant Hamilton in the 72nd minute of play forced FC ZUPANY's goalkeeper Paddy Carpenter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Darius Byfield charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Darius Byfield the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 80th minute there was a penalty for Cullompton United. Oliver Holdcroft stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Paddy Carpenter. 1-3. Darius Byfield placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! After 92 minutes, Len Knight mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cullompton United and the FC ZUPANY players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of FC ZUPANY booed when Cullompton United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Len Knight didn't get a good kick on the ball. David Gettins recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Matthew Dimmock made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Jasper Rawson sent off a good shot on target. FC ZUPANY played a much better game than Cullompton United and deserved their victory. The Cullompton United players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
