Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Karl Millman in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Matthew Dimmock prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a little luck, Rochester United's Alec Legzdins got control of the ball when Grant Hamilton tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 20th minute, Cullompton United's Stu Swinscoe dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. The audience was convinced that Karl Millman's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Matthew Dimmock was relentless in the 44th minute of the game. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Karl Millman made a kick off.
