The referee ignored Shaktar Boyz's protests and gave Phillip Mann a yellow card for diving instead. In the 9th minute, one of Shaktar Boyz:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Shaktar Boyz. Devon Bale received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Roy Brighton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 16 minutes into the game, Surbiton 17's Leigh Jewson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Roy Brighton made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. After some careless play in the Surbiton 17 defense, Alf Stamp kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Richard Purvis. The Surbiton 17 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Richard Purvis should have stopped the shot. A hard shot 25 in the game by Dom Middlewood from a close distance when the talented Roy Brighton managed to make a qualified save. Shaktar Boyz's players were relieved. After a rather tough play, Shaktar Boyz's Terry Scrivener got a free kick in the 25th minute. Dom Middlewood might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Roy Brighton. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dom Middlewood ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Greg Styles managed to get in a good position for a shot. Shaktar Boyz's supporters rose to their feet, but Greg Styles was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Richard Purvis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 39th minute, Surbiton 17's Devon Bale ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Roy Brighton. Roy Brighton yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-1. If Devon Bale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leigh Jewson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roy Brighton having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

Surbiton 17's Dom Middlewood got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dom Middlewood received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Roy Brighton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Roy Brighton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dom Middlewood in the 58th minute of the match. A collision led to Shaktar Boyz getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Greg Styles hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Devon Bale in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Roy Brighton prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Devon Bale received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. After a rather tough play, Surbiton 17's Owen Dunning got a free kick in the 92nd minute. The supporters of Surbiton 17 booed when Shaktar Boyz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Greg Styles didn't get a good kick on the ball. Surbiton 17's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
