Kestelburn Village's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hector Urbes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. The referee felt a red card was in order, 7 minutes into the game, when Seth Brown put in a rough tackle. The supporters of Kestelburn Village booed when Greengates Goliaths was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Seth Brown didn't get a good kick on the ball. Liam Friend took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nath Crichton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 13 minutes into the game, Rodney Sheldon cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Liam Friend was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some careless play in the Greengates Goliaths defense, Alfie Fawell kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Liam Friend. The Greengates Goliaths fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Liam Friend should have stopped the shot. In the 24th minute Kevin Beech shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Liam Friend saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alfie Fawell might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Liam Friend. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alfie Fawell ran back to his position shaking his head. Liam Friend made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfie Fawell in the 28th minute of play. Liam Friend showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfie Fawell, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Perry Denham hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. 35 minutes into the game, Hector Urbes recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Craig Oates. Hector Urbes showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. Martyn Warden took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Liam Friend. Liam Friend dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. If Julian Rusby had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Kestelburn Village were leading 2-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hector Urbes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Greengates Goliaths defense, Alfie Fawell kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Liam Friend. The Greengates Goliaths fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Liam Friend should have stopped the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hector Urbes in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Craig Oates prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hector Urbes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Craig Oates having to interfere. If Hector Urbes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Craig Oates took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hector Urbes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Chris Bullard made in the 82nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Greengates Goliaths's Francis Farrell. The supporters of Greengates Goliaths booed when Kestelburn Village was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ron Salt didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Greengates Goliaths's Hector Urbes got a free kick in the 90th minute. Liam Friend took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kevin Beech, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Liam Friend made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martyn Warden in the 96th minute of play. The Greengates Goliaths supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Kestelburn Village's performance. The match ended with a win for Kestelburn Village.
