Liam Friend made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rich Fawell in the 16th minute of play. Rich Fawell charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rich Fawell the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Rich Fawell kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Blackburn Rovers F. C.'s goalkeeper couldn't reach when Hector Urbes 28 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. After a rather tough play, Blackburn Rovers F. C.'s Denis Chandler got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Rich Fawell kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Hector Urbes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aureliusz Szel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. Liam Friend made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Piers Jefferson in the 40th minute of play. 42 minutes into the match, Blackburn Rovers F. C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Hector Urbes came free, but Aureliusz Szel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hector Urbes was the one to do the kick off. Greengates Goliaths's Michalis Banasopoulos quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Graham Partridge, made in the 52nd minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rich Fawell got free with Liam Friend in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Greengates Goliaths's Liam Friend got control of the ball when Piers Jefferson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ronny Elliott received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Liam Friend tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ronny Elliott during the 75th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Greengates Goliaths booed when Blackburn Rovers F. C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronny Elliott didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 76th minute, Hector Urbes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Aureliusz Szel was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hector Urbes in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aureliusz Szel saved Blackburn Rovers F. C. from getting behind. After some careless play in the Greengates Goliaths defense, Ronny Elliott kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Liam Friend. The Greengates Goliaths fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Liam Friend should have stopped the shot. 92 minutes into the game, Sean Barat was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Blackburn Rovers F. C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Greengates Goliaths the free kick. In the 92nd match minute, Blackburn Rovers F. C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sean Barat to maneuver through the defense. Hector Urbes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aureliusz Szel having to make a save. After 96 played minutes Greengates Goliaths got a freekick which was hit by Francis Farrell. Many of Blackburn Rovers F. C.'s supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Blackburn Rovers F. C. may have spent more time on the ball, but Greengates Goliaths were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
