With a little luck, Vauxhall FC's Clive Benbow got control of the ball when Stewart Probert tried to sneak it across the goal line. 13 minutes into the match, Wirral Town FC's goal looked a bit too open when Louis Richardson came free, but Tod Ingram reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 14th minute Louis Richardson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tod Ingram saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tod Ingram made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Louis Richardson in the 21st minute of play. In the 23rd match minute, Vauxhall FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fitz Verity to maneuver through the defense. Stewart Locke did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 3-0 to the left of a surprised Clive Benbow 24 minutes into the match. In the 36thth minute of the game Stewart Locke who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vauxhall FC's Clive Benbow was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 38th minute of the match Wirral Town FC got a corner. Vauxhall FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Grant Creighton ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Wirral Town FC's Grant Creighton to fire away a dangerous shot which Clive Benbow despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The audience was convinced that Stewart Locke's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Clive Benbow was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Stewart Probert got free with Clive Benbow in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Vauxhall FC's Clive Benbow played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stewart Locke in the 46th minute of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fitz Verity stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Stewart Probert's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Clive Benbow was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. Clive Benbow took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stewart Locke, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Clive Benbow showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stewart Locke, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. If Stewart Probert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 63 minutes into the match, Vauxhall FC's goal looked a bit too open when Stewart Probert came free, but Clive Benbow reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 66th minute, Ashley Henry hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Clive Benbow took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Grant Creighton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 71st minute Stewart Locke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clive Benbow saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 78th minute, Stewart Probert left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Wirral Town FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. In the 81st minute Stewart Locke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clive Benbow saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Vauxhall FC booed when Wirral Town FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Timothy Power didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 88th minute of the match Damion Hooker shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tod Ingram showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Stewart Probert recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Clive Benbow made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stewart Probert in the 95th minute of play. Wirral Town FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
