A collision led to Harleston getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Kirk Longden hit a great ball. After 9 played minutes, Broken bottles FC's Duncan Woodyat shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Reg Christensen came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Broken bottles FC reached it. Dean Simms made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sebastien Steadman in the 11th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sebastien Steadman got free with Dean Simms in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Harleston's Dave Porter got a free kick in the 14th minute. Ivan Washington recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 17thth minute of the game Ivan Washington who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Harleston's Reg Christensen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Dean Simms was out of position in the 24 minute of play, and Eddy Boyd capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Eddy Boyd really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Sebastien Steadman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 28th match minute, Broken bottles FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jack Routledge to maneuver through the defense. After 29 played minutes, Harleston's Jack Weeks shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Dean Simms came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Harleston reached it. Sebastien Steadman's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Dean Simms firmly grabbed it by the left post. With a little luck, Broken bottles FC's Dean Simms got control of the ball when Sebastien Steadman tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dean Simms was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Eddy Boyd showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 42 minute of play. 46 minutes into the match, Broken bottles FC's goalkeeper Dean Simms had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sebastien Steadman.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Archie Sansom was the one to do the kick off. After 53 minutes, Francis Routledge mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Harleston and the Broken bottles FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 53 played minutes Harleston got a freekick which was hit by Francis Routledge. With an all-out effort, Broken bottles FC's Reg Christensen threw himself towards the right post 56 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Archie Sansom, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Sun Chuan Wen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dean Simms made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastien Steadman in the 59th minute of play. Archie Sansom was extremely unlucky when he, in the 63rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Eddy Boyd sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Broken bottles FC's Eddy Moody was substituted for Archie Sansom. Broken bottles FC's Curtis Claydon was substituted for Antanas Sabaliauskas. In the 71st minute, Eddy Boyd hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 74 minutes into the match, Broken bottles FC's goal looked a bit too open when Sebastien Steadman came free, but Dean Simms reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Reg Christensen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ivan Washington in the 78th minute. Reg Christensen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eddy Moody, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 82nd match minute, Harleston was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Barry Morgan to maneuver through the defense. Eddy Moody received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Reg Christensen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 86th minute, Eddy Boyd left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Harleston fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. In the 91st minute Eddy Boyd shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dean Simms saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastien Steadman in the 93rd minute of play forced Broken bottles FC's goalkeeper Dean Simms to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Harleston had won after a very even match.
