Spectators: 7864 (Terracing: 5980, Seating: 1834, VIP seats: 50) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Dean Baldwin got the match started through his kick off. Steaua's Raimundo Heli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benjamin Barfield in the 9th minute of play. 10 minutes into the match, Dean Baldwin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alf Battersby. Wolf Rex's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dean Baldwin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. If Dean Baldwin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Alf Battersby came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Steaua's Dean Baldwin. But to his dismay, Dean Baldwin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After 22 played minutes Wolf Rex got a freekick which was hit by Marlon Power. After some careless play in the Wolf Rex defense, Dean Baldwin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alf Battersby. The Wolf Rex fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alf Battersby should have stopped the shot. Mike Meadowcroft kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. 39 minutes in the game Isaac Newton did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Howard Carter. 45 minutes into the match, Wolf Rex's goal looked a bit too open when Dean Baldwin came free, but Alf Battersby reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 47 minutes into the game, Donald Moyle was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Wolf Rex's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Steaua the free kick. A collision led to Wolf Rex getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Donald Moyle hit a great ball. After the first half Steaua were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Benjamin Barfield was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Wolf Rex booed when Steaua was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benjamin Henman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marlon Power took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 52nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Raimundo Heli. Steaua's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Alf Battersby showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ahmet Bedri Durusan, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. In the 55th minute, Donald Moyle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alf Battersby made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dean Baldwin in the 65th minute of play. In the 66th minute, Benjamin Henman had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. Marty Stayton's late challenge caught a Steaua's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marty Stayton helped the player get up and apologised. After 68 played minutes Wolf Rex got a freekick which was hit by Marty Stayton. After 73 minutes of play Wolf Rex's Marty Stayton was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Marty Stayton kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. A hard shot 75 in the game by Dean Baldwin from a close distance when the talented Alf Battersby managed to make a qualified save. Wolf Rex's players were relieved. Bob Garrett was shown his second yellow card after 77 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of Steaua booed when Wolf Rex was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bob Garrett didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 81 minutes, Benjamin Barfield mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Wolf Rex and the Steaua players grew even worse after the yellow card. Benjamin Barfield hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. A sloppy throw-in by Howard Carter in the 84th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Wolf Rex's Hugh Haskell. After 90 minutes of play, Steaua's Dean Baldwin made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alf Battersby was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the match was over Steaua could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Wolf Rex throughout the match.
