In the 4th minute Ivor Henwood shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reg Christensen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Elsdon's Nicholas Cooke proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Elsdon from getting a goal against them. Reg Christensen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivor Henwood in the 9th minute of the match. The referee ignored Harleston's protests and gave Francis Routledge a yellow card for diving instead. After 15 played minutes Harleston got a freekick which was hit by Francis Routledge. Marty Stonehouse was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 31 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Elsdon fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 30th minute. Penalty! In the 36th minute, Dave Porter hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Francis Routledge hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Nicholas Cooke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eddy Boyd in the 42nd minute of play. In the 42nd minute, Dave Porter hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 46th minute of the match, Fraser Locking tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Nicholas Cooke saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The wind increased when Eddy Boyd made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Dave Porter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicholas Cooke saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 53 minutes, Dave Porter mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Harleston and the Elsdon players grew even worse after the yellow card. Dave Porter kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eddy Boyd in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nicholas Cooke prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastien Steadman in the 59th minute of play forced Elsdon's goalkeeper Nicholas Cooke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Reg Christensen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivor Henwood, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 65 minutes, Eddy Boyd managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Harleston's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eddy Boyd was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nicholas Cooke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francis Routledge, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Nicholas Cooke came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Harleston's Sebastien Steadman. But to his dismay, Sebastien Steadman quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. 71 minutes into the match, Elsdon's goal looked a bit too open when Dave Porter came free, but Nicholas Cooke reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Blair Moyse had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Dave Porter managed to get in a good position for a shot. Harleston's supporters rose to their feet, but Dave Porter was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nicholas Cooke breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eddy Boyd in the 79th minute of play forced Elsdon's goalkeeper Nicholas Cooke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nicholas Cooke took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastien Steadman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 85 minutes into the match, Fraser Locking had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nicholas Cooke. Elsdon's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fraser Locking was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. In the 88th match minute, Harleston was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Francis Routledge to maneuver through the defense. In the 91st minute Blair Moyse shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reg Christensen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nicholas Cooke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eddy Boyd in the 93rd minute of play. Nicholas Cooke took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Barry Morgan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Harleston were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Elsdon for a fine match.
