Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Ivor Henwood got the match started through his kick off. Nicholas Cooke showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Bowler in the 5th minute of the match. In the 8th minute Blair Moyse shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kevin West saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Elsdon's Nicholas Cooke played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Bowler in the 13th minute of play. Joel Bowler scored 0-1 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nicholas Cooke, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Barry Peat sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nicholas Cooke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daryl Simms in the 19th minute of play. 20 minutes into the game, Dover Athletic FC's Damian Digby nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nicholas Cooke made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Nicholas Cooke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daryl Simms, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Nicholas Cooke took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Barry Peat, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daryl Simms in the 26th minute of play forced Elsdon's goalkeeper Nicholas Cooke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Elsdon's Nicholas Cooke played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paul Armstrong in the 29th minute of play. Nicholas Cooke came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Dover Athletic FC's Daryl Simms. But to his dismay, Daryl Simms quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. In the 38th minute, Joel Bowler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Barry Peat hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. In the 44th minute, Daryl Simms left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Dover Athletic FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. The Elsdon players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Dover Athletic FC were winning 0-4.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daryl Simms to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Barry Peat got free with Nicholas Cooke in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alec Lennon hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Elsdon's Ash Humphreys got a free kick in the 59th minute. With a little luck, Elsdon's Nicholas Cooke got control of the ball when Barry Peat tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 60th minute, Alec Lennon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Elsdon's Nicholas Cooke played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daryl Simms in the 63rd minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Barry Peat could shoot a difficult shot in the 64th minute, which Nicholas Cooke however easily saved by the left post. After 66 played minutes Elsdon got a freekick which was hit by Marty Stonehouse. In the 67th match minute, Elsdon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brett Varley to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 68 minutes, Daryl Simms managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dover Athletic FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daryl Simms was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Elsdon booed when Dover Athletic FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Barry Peat didn't get a good kick on the ball. Barry Peat took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nicholas Cooke. Nicholas Cooke dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. Daryl Simms kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. 81 minutes into the match, Barry Peat had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nicholas Cooke. Elsdon's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Barry Peat was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-6. Daryl Simms sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nicholas Cooke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeremy Ingram, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. When Daryl Simms came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Dover Athletic FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daryl Simms couldn't finish the play. After 91st play minutes Daryl Simms shot 0-7, a short shot which went by Nicholas Cooke and just under the crossbar into goal. A collision led to Dover Athletic FC getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Daryl Simms hit a great ball. The Elsdon supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Dover Athletic FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Dover Athletic FC.
