Wolf Rex
Spectators: 7948 (Terracing: 6045, Seating: 1853, VIP seats: 50) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Benjamin Barfield kicked off to start the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Love in the 4th minute of play forced Wolf Rex's goalkeeper Alf Battersby to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 5 minutes, Rupert Fielden mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Wolf Rex and the FC Amsterdam Wanderers players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Wolf Rex's Rupert Fielden got a free kick in the 5th minute. Alf Battersby made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Feridun Eronat in the 8th minute of play. Ashley Barron recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 11th match minute, FC Amsterdam Wanderers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adrian Rowling to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Wolf Rex defense, David Love kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alf Battersby. The Wolf Rex fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alf Battersby should have stopped the shot. Alf Battersby didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from David Love went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Lenny Theobald made in the 21st minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Feridun Eronat however managed to control. David Love sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 24 minutes, Simon Cornish mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Wolf Rex and the FC Amsterdam Wanderers players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 24th match minute, Wolf Rex was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Simon Cornish to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 30 minutes, David Love managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Amsterdam Wanderers's supporters crossed their fingers, but David Love was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alf Battersby made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Feridun Eronat in the 33rd minute of play. 34 minutes into the match, Wolf Rex's goal looked a bit too open when Feridun Eronat came free, but Alf Battersby reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 36 minutes, Benjamin Barfield managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wolf Rex's supporters crossed their fingers, but Benjamin Barfield was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 38 minutes into the match, Feridun Eronat had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alf Battersby. Wolf Rex's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Feridun Eronat was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Wolf Rex's Alf Battersby played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adrian Rowling in the 41st minute of play. In the 46th minute Feridun Eronat shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alf Battersby saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Feridun Eronat was the one to do the kick off. 55 minutes into the game, Damon Kitchen threw the ball into play from the sideline. Wolf Rex's Rupert Fielden quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Wesley Rush showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benjamin Barfield in the 56th minute of the match. Wolf Rex's Alf Battersby played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Feridun Eronat in the 57th minute of play. Benjamin Barfield received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Wesley Rush tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alf Battersby stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Feridun Eronat's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. Alf Battersby came out of the goal in the 65th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Amsterdam Wanderers's Feridun Eronat. But to his dismay, Feridun Eronat quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Feridun Eronat's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Alf Battersby firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 72nd minute of the match, Feridun Eronat got a very nice opportunity to score, but Alf Battersby was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Alf Battersby came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Amsterdam Wanderers's David Love. But to his dismay, David Love quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. The crowd rose to their feet as David Love kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Alf Battersby. That made the score 0-6 in the 79 minute of play. Mick Morris was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 82nd minute. FC Amsterdam Wanderers's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 85 minutes into the game, Feridun Eronat recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Alf Battersby. Feridun Eronat showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-7. Feridun Eronat could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Alf Battersby made a huge save. David Love's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alf Battersby read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. Feridun Eronat could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Alf Battersby made a huge save. FC Amsterdam Wanderers played a much better game than Wolf Rex and deserved their victory. The Wolf Rex players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
