One of Broken bottles FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Steaua:s goal. In the 68th minute Dean Baldwin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dean Simms saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Broken bottles FC made a substitution. Eddy Moody replaced Archie Sansom. The supporters of Broken bottles FC booed when Steaua was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. In the 98th minute Dean Baldwin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dean Simms saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 99th minute of the match Steaua got a corner. Broken bottles FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mike Meadowcroft ran over to the corner to take the kick.
