After some careless play in the Kingswinford defense, Francis Routledge kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bobby Blake. The Kingswinford fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bobby Blake should have stopped the shot. Bobby Blake took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastien Steadman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Thom Hopgood in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Reg Christensen saved Harleston from getting behind. Sebastien Steadman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Bobby Blake tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Philip Garner recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kingswinford's Bobby Blake played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eddy Boyd in the 24th minute of play. Sebastien Steadman took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bobby Blake. Bobby Blake dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Reg Christensen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Robert Boyce went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Vincent Foster kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Eddy Boyd received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Bobby Blake tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Kingswinford's Larry Bennett got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Bobby Blake took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dave Porter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kingswinford's Bobby Blake played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastien Steadman in the 47th minute of play. In the last second Reg Christensen throw himself and got hold of the ball when Thom Hopgood in the 48thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Thom Hopgood stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Harleston's Reg Christensen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robert Boyce in the 52nd minute of play. In the 55th match minute, Harleston was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kirk Longden to maneuver through the defense. 58 minutes into the match, Kingswinford's goalkeeper Bobby Blake had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Barry Morgan. Dave Porter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Bobby Blake tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bobby Blake made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eddy Boyd in the 63rd minute of play. Eddy Boyd scored 1-3 in the 63rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bobby Blake, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Reg Christensen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Philip Garner, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. An unexpected shot in the 68th minute by Sebastien Steadman got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Robert Boyce received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Reg Christensen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kingswinford made a substitution. Sol Haseldine replaced Larry Bennett. In the 73rd match minute, Harleston was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dave Porter to maneuver through the defense. 74 minutes into the game, Sebastien Steadman recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Bobby Blake. Sebastien Steadman showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-4. Vincent Foster hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Sebastien Steadman in the 82ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Bobby Blake, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Bobby Blake made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Francis Routledge sent off a good shot on target. 2-4 became the score in the 87th minute when Thom Hopgood elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. When Philip Garner came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Kingswinford fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Philip Garner couldn't finish the play. Harleston played a much better game than Kingswinford and deserved their victory. The Kingswinford players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
