Machiavellian's Lawrence Marriott was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Raimundo Heli in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Dean Baldwin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Steaua's supporters rose to their feet, but Dean Baldwin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Johnny Brooke breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 20th minute Walter Castledine shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raimundo Heli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 21st match minute, Machiavellian was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ian Reed to maneuver through the defense. Steaua's Raimundo Heli proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Steaua from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dean Baldwin in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Johnny Brooke prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Raimundo Heli made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Ian Reed sent off a good shot on target. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dean Baldwin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Dean Baldwin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Johnny Brooke was a little too slow when Dean Baldwin got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 56th minute. The score was now 0-1. The Steaua fans' excitement grew in the 60th match minute when Steaua's Dean Baldwin looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Nicholas Boulton kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. The supporters of Steaua booed when Machiavellian was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ian Reed didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dean Baldwin's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 69thth minute, Johnny Brooke skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dean Baldwin couldn't finish the play. 79 minutes into the match Dean Baldwin climbed in front of goal and pressed up 0-3 in the right cross behind a totally surprised Johnny Brooke. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dean Baldwin in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Johnny Brooke saved Machiavellian from getting behind. Johnny Brooke made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dean Baldwin in the 87th minute. A collision led to Machiavellian getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Keanu Wardell hit a great ball. Dean Baldwin might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Johnny Brooke. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dean Baldwin ran back to his position shaking his head. Ahmet Bedri Durusan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johnny Brooke having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded Steaua left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Machiavellian.
