Francis Routledge could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Raimundo Heli made a huge save. In the 12th minute, Keith Galloway left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Steaua fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Dean Baldwin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 18th minute Eddy Boyd shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raimundo Heli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A nice corner shot did that Eddy Boyd got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Raimundo Heli quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Harleston were awarded a corner in the 21th minute after Steaua's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jack Weeks took the corner. Steaua's defense didn't have a chance, in the 22nd minute, when Francis Routledge scored to the left of an out of position Raimundo Heli, making the score, 1-1. When Ahmet Bedri Durusan fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Steaua's protests and gave Ahmet Bedri Durusan a yellow card for diving instead. Ahmet Bedri Durusan kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. If Jack Weeks had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dean Baldwin in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Reg Christensen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match had gone on for 37 minutes, Francis Routledge took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Raimundo Heli to make any attempt to save it. After a rather tough play, Steaua's Isaac Newton got a free kick in the 41st minute. Raimundo Heli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eddy Boyd, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Raimundo Heli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eddy Boyd in the 42nd minute of the match. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eddy Boyd to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Steaua's Dean Baldwin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Reg Christensen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. 54 minutes into the match, Harleston's goalkeeper Reg Christensen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dean Baldwin. Raimundo Heli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eddy Boyd, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Keith Galloway recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Reg Christensen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dean Baldwin in the 64th minute. In the 66th minute, Dean Baldwin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Reg Christensen was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. In the 69th minute, Dave Porter hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Steaua booed when Harleston was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sammy Pack didn't get a good kick on the ball. Steaua were furious when Ahmet Bedri Durusan was red carded, 81 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 80 minutes into the game, one of Steaua:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After a rather tough play, Harleston's Dave Porter got a free kick in the 85th minute. In the 90th minute, Keith Galloway hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jack Weeks was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 91st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Eddy Boyd recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 97 minutes into the game, Dave Porter cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-3. Raimundo Heli was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
