Seb Morrell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Rowan Savage tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Isaac Hodgson charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Isaac Hodgson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Isaac Hodgson hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. In the 13th minute Len Gardener shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeffrey Huckerby saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jeffrey Huckerby made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Len Gardener in the 15th minute of play. Farnborough's Len Gardener got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 20 minutes into the match, Len Gardener had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jeffrey Huckerby. F.C. United of Hull's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Len Gardener was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. A collision led to Farnborough getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Denny Holmes hit a great ball. Rowan Savage made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Perry Lambourne sent off a good shot on target. In the 35th minute Len Gardener shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeffrey Huckerby saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Denny Holmes fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Farnborough's protests and gave Denny Holmes a yellow card for diving instead. Denny Holmes kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Rowan Savage made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Perry Lambourne sent off a good shot on target. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Farnborough's goalkeeper Rowan Savage, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Perry Lambourne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After the first half Farnborough were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Denny Holmes to make the kick off. In the 52nd match minute, Farnborough was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Malcolm Allwright to maneuver through the defense. Rowan Savage came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by F.C. United of Hull's Yağız Ulaç. But to his dismay, Yağız Ulaç quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in Farnborough's zone, Yağız Ulaç stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rowan Savage came out of the goal and Yağız Ulaç tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rowan Savage took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yağız Ulaç, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Yağız Ulaç took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rowan Savage. Rowan Savage dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. In the 76th minute of the match, Len Gardener got a very nice opportunity to score, but Jeffrey Huckerby was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After a defensive mix-up in F.C. United of Hull's zone, Len Gardener stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jeffrey Huckerby came out of the goal and Len Gardener tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Yağız Ulaç fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rowan Savage having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Denny Holmes in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jeffrey Huckerby prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Len Gardener sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee ended the match the F.C. United of Hull players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
