Spectators: 7500 (Terracing: 5875, Seating: 1575, VIP seats: 50) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Derek Marenghi got the match started through his kick off. F.C. United of Hull's goalkeeper couldn't reach when George Woodhead 3 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. George Woodhead received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Jeffrey Huckerby tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jeffrey Huckerby was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but George Woodhead showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 11 minute of play. In the 14th minute, George Woodhead reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jeffrey Huckerby. The goal made the score 3-0. After a rather tough play, F.C. United of Hull's Yağız Ulaç got a free kick in the 17th minute. With his leg Jeffrey Huckerby managed to avoid a goal in the 22ndth minute, when Colchester United's Derek Marenghi fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Colchester United's Derek Marenghi was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 22nd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. 25 minutes into the match, Colchester United's George Woodhead sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jeffrey Huckerby narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 31st minute there was a penalty for Colchester United. Derek Marenghi stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Jeffrey Huckerby. 5-0. After 39 minutes of play, Colchester United's Derek Marenghi made it 7-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jeffrey Huckerby was left in no man's land by his defense there! 42 minutes into the game, Abayhan Erengüç was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Colchester United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave F.C. United of Hull the free kick. A collision led to Colchester United getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Abayhan Erengüç hit a great ball. The supporters of Colchester United booed when F.C. United of Hull was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Seb Morrell didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jeffrey Huckerby made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Derek Marenghi sent off a good shot on target.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Seb Morrell was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to F.C. United of Hull getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Alfie Philips hit a great ball. In the 54th minute, Perry Lambourne hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 56th minute Derek Marenghi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeffrey Huckerby saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The corner ended in Jukka Leppiniemi almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but F.C. United of Hull's Jeffrey Huckerby did a great save. After 60 minutes, Alfie Philips mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the F.C. United of Hull and the Colchester United players grew even worse after the yellow card. Alfie Philips kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. In the 62nd minute, Derek Marenghi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Colchester United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 8-0. F.C. United of Hull's Jeffrey Huckerby played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by George Woodhead in the 65th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Den Lock during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Den Lock kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. When George Woodhead came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Colchester United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that George Woodhead couldn't finish the play. F.C. United of Hull's Jeffrey Huckerby played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Derek Marenghi in the 75th minute of play. If George Woodhead had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 81st minute, Derek Marenghi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Derek Marenghi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeffrey Huckerby having to interfere. With an all-out effort, F.C. United of Hull's Natalio Arnas threw himself towards the right post 91 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Seb Morrell, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Jeffrey Huckerby showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from George Woodhead, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. After having played for 96 minutes, Derek Marenghi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Colchester United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Derek Marenghi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee ended the match the Colchester United players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
