Czeladzianie's supporters rose to their feet, but Vern Southgate was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rowan Savage breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Vern Southgate had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Malcolm Allwright got free with Niall Beasley in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Niall Beasley showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Denny Holmes in the 16th minute of the match. Len Gardener could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Niall Beasley made a huge save. Fred Browne fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rowan Savage having to interfere. Frazer Clayton was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 23 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Czeladzianie fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 23rd minute. Penalty! Fred Browne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Farnborough defense, Fred Browne kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rowan Savage. The Farnborough fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rowan Savage should have stopped the shot. Vern Southgate sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Rowan Savage didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 61st minute, which inside left pole to 1-3. Czeladzianie's Niall Beasley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Malcolm Allwright in the 64th minute of play. If Sonny Sparks had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sonny Sparks's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rowan Savage read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. Farnborough's Winnie Harrison got his second yellow card of the match in the 82nd minute. The referee ordered Winnie Harrison off the ground. After a rather tough play, Farnborough's Winnie Harrison got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Rowan Savage made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vern Southgate in the 87th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Czeladzianie's Bruce Long got a free kick in the 90th minute. In the 91st minute of the match Pat Kitching sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Niall Beasley skillfully saved the ball. Fred Browne blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rowan Savage having to make a save. Farnborough's Rowan Savage played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vern Southgate in the 95th minute of play.
