Colchester United's Tod Monkman was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 15th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. The supporters of Juventus booed when Colchester United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. George Woodhead didn't get a good kick on the ball. A nice corner shot did that Jukka Leppiniemi got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Thom Daly quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. George Woodhead received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Thom Daly tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Natalio Arnas didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rupert Blacknell went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. The supporters of Juventus booed when Colchester United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerónimo Villavicencio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Colchester United's George Woodhead got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rupert Blacknell made a kick off. Natalio Arnas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rupert Blacknell, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Derek Marenghi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Thom Daly tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 57th minute Tod Monkman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thom Daly saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thom Daly showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from George Woodhead in the 60th minute of the match. Stan Addison kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. If Tod Monkman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 67 minutes into the match, Juventus's goal looked a bit too open when George Woodhead came free, but Thom Daly reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Frazer Eadan kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. When George Woodhead came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Colchester United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that George Woodhead couldn't finish the play. Thom Daly made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from George Woodhead in the 89th minute of play. When the referee ended the match the Colchester United players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
