When the match had gone on for 5 minutes, Tiburcio Lain put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Phil Guest. In the 8th minute, Tiburcio Lain got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the Viking Rovers defense, Tiburcio Lain kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Phil Guest. The Viking Rovers fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Phil Guest should have stopped the shot. After 13 minutes, Tiburcio Lain made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Viking Rovers's Phil Guest tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 15 minutes, Marcos Francisco Elzo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. London Lions's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcos Francisco Elzo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 18 minutes into the game, Tiburcio Lain cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Phil Guest was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 23 minutes into the match, Aaron Newman notched a goal, 1-4, to the right of London Lions's Bogdan Ghimpu. Bogdan Ghimpu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 28 minutes had been played when some careless play by London Lions's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ralf Silk was slow to take the kick. During this time Viking Rovers's players had a chance to rest. London Lions's Bogdan Ghimpu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save London Lions from getting a goal against them. Phil Guest took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tiburcio Lain, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 34th play minutes Tiburcio Lain shot 1-5, a short shot which went by Phil Guest and just under the crossbar into goal. In a very dangerous position, a player in Viking Rovers fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 38th minute. Penalty! Tiburcio Lain blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Phil Guest having to make a save. Rupert Rundle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phil Guest having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-7.

Viking Rovers's defense didn't have a chance, in the 52nd minute, when Marcos Francisco Elzo scored to the left of an out of position Phil Guest, making the score, 1-8. In the 59thth minute of the game Tiburcio Lain who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Viking Rovers's Phil Guest was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Viking Rovers getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Andy Windsor hit a great ball. Leandro Guerra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Phil Guest tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tiburcio Lain in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Phil Guest saved Viking Rovers from getting behind. An unexpected shot in the 72nd minute by Marcos Francisco Elzo got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Aaron Newman charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aaron Newman the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Viking Rovers's Aaron Newman got a free kick in the 73rd minute. 75 minutes into the game, Tiburcio Lain lined in a short shot 1-10 behind a frustrated Phil Guest. Tiburcio Lain in the 81stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Phil Guest, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 82nd minute Marcos Francisco Elzo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Phil Guest saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tiburcio Lain got free with Phil Guest in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With an all-out effort, London Lions's Phil Guest threw himself towards the right post 84 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Tiburcio Lain, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 86th minute, Tiburcio Lain left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The London Lions fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-12. In the 90th minute, London Lions's Tiburcio Lain dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-13. When the match was over London Lions could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Viking Rovers throughout the match.
