Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Ron Clayton took the kick off in the first half of the match. Joseph Jump showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nat Langsford, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Shoreham by Sea's Joseph Jump proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save Shoreham by Sea from getting a goal against them. In the 7th minute of the match, Seb Titmus got a very nice opportunity to score, but Joseph Jump was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 8th match minute, Shoreham by Sea was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Barry Flintoff to maneuver through the defense. Seb Titmus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Joseph Jump tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Geoff Beck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 13 minutes into the match, Geoff Beck notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Southampton's Martin Wilson. Martin Wilson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Kristian Swanson's late challenge caught a Southampton's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kristian Swanson helped the player get up and apologised. Kristian Swanson hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Shoreham by Sea's zone, Seb Titmus stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joseph Jump came out of the goal and Seb Titmus tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 19 minutes into the match, Nat Langsford notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Shoreham by Sea's Joseph Jump. Joseph Jump was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Martin Wilson came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Shoreham by Sea's Geoff Beck. But to his dismay, Geoff Beck quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Jools Denham hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Nat Langsford sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Geoff Beck in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Martin Wilson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Daniel Reading hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. After having played for 38 minutes, Ron Clayton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Shoreham by Sea's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ron Clayton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half Shoreham by Sea were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Joseph Jump showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Seb Titmus, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. 56 minutes into the match, Southampton's goalkeeper Martin Wilson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Geoff Beck. Geoff Beck recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Joseph Jump took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jools Denham, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joseph Jump showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nat Langsford, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. After 66 minutes of play, Southampton's Jools Denham made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joseph Jump was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to Southampton getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Archie Stonebridge hit a great ball. In the 71st minute Archie Stonebridge shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joseph Jump saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 73 minutes of play, Southampton's Nat Langsford made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joseph Jump was left in no man's land by his defense there! Barry Flintoff's late challenge caught a Southampton's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. Shoreham by Sea's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nat Langsford was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-2. In the 88th match minute, Southampton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Archie Stonebridge to maneuver through the defense. Martin Wilson was a little too slow when Ron Clayton got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 91st minute. The score was now 4-3. Jools Denham kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Geoff Beck managed to get in a good position for a shot. Shoreham by Sea's supporters rose to their feet, but Geoff Beck was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Martin Wilson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Southampton had won after a very even match.
