After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Marc Cutts managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chipping Sodbury United's supporters rose to their feet, but Marc Cutts was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nicky Bensley breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tommy Simpson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nicky Bensley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Junior Bridge, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonathan Smikle hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Junior Bridge received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Nicky Bensley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Keanu Liddle fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chipping Sodbury United's protests and gave Keanu Liddle a yellow card for diving instead. After 37 played minutes Chipping Sodbury United got a freekick which was hit by Keanu Liddle. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tommy Simpson in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nicky Bensley saved Carlin How Unite from getting behind. Nicky Bensley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Junior Bridge, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Carlin How Unite were furious when Ronnie Kershaw was red carded, 45 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 44 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Carlin How Unite! Eric Nevin placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out!

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Junior Bridge was the one to do the kick off. Carlin How Unite's Nicky Bensley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Junior Bridge in the 57th minute of play. Nicky Bensley was out of position in the 60 minute of play, and Junior Bridge capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Junior Bridge really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. Junior Bridge struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Nicky Bensley didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chipping Sodbury United. A collision led to Carlin How Unite getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Julian Coates hit a great ball. Eric Nevin's shot from long distance in the 67th minute was not bad at all, but Carlin How Unite's Nicky Bensley knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. Nicky Bensley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Junior Bridge, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Nicky Bensley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nat Peyton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 94th minute Junior Bridge shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicky Bensley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Junior Bridge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
