Seating: 1828, VIP seats: 10) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Huey Dawson made the kick off which started today's match. After 4 minutes, Andre Todd mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Carlin How Unite and the AEK ATHENS players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Carlin How Unite's Andre Todd got a free kick in the 4th minute. Jonathan Smikle charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jonathan Smikle the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jonathan Smikle hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Huey Dawson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carlin How Unite's Nicky Bensley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeremy Holloway in the 21st minute of play. In the 23rd match minute, AEK ATHENS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stewart Langford to maneuver through the defense. Rodd Armitage took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Huey Dawson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 27 minutes, Jeremy Holloway managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AEK ATHENS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jeremy Holloway was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nicky Bensley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Max Marshall, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. After 35 minutes, Nath Pearce mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Carlin How Unite and the AEK ATHENS players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of AEK ATHENS booed when Carlin How Unite was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nath Pearce didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nicky Bensley showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jeremy Holloway in the 36th minute of the match. In the 37th minute, Jonathan Smikle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 42 minutes of play, AEK ATHENS's Tamás Honti made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nicky Bensley was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Carlin How Unite's Jonathan Smikle got a free kick in the 45th minute. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jeremy Holloway made a kick off. Thanks to some nice moves Tamás Honti could shoot a difficult shot in the 54th minute, which Nicky Bensley however easily saved by the left post. When Julian Coates fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Carlin How Unite's protests and gave Julian Coates a yellow card for diving instead. In the 59th minute, Julian Coates hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Max Marshall's late challenge caught a Carlin How Unite's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Max Marshall helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, AEK ATHENS's Max Marshall got a free kick in the 74th minute. Luke Brearley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Rodd Armitage tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jeremy Holloway received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Nicky Bensley came out and tried to block the shot, but Jeremy Holloway slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 80th minute. Robert Atkinson hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. If Jeremy Holloway had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Max Marshall managed to get in a good position for a shot. AEK ATHENS's supporters rose to their feet, but Max Marshall was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nicky Bensley breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nicky Bensley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Todd Leatherdale, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Tamás Honti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle sounded AEK ATHENS left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Carlin How Unite.
