After 22 played minutes, Queen Street FC's Chaz Margarson shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper James Hotte came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Queen Street FC reached it. After 25th play minutes Curtis Hornsby shot 1-2, a short shot which went by James Hotte and just under the crossbar into goal. James Hotte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Curtis Hornsby, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joseph Hassell recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 34th minute Curtis Hornsby shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but James Hotte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Queen Street FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

When the final whistle sounded Queen Street FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Academy Team.
