In the 77th minute Dom Bates shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guy Davis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Ian Watson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Holy Cross Mountains's supporters rose to their feet, but Ian Watson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Barry Edgson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Ash Dlyan fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ealing's protests and gave Ash Dlyan a yellow card for diving instead. The Ealing supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Holy Cross Mountains's performance. The match ended with a win for Holy Cross Mountains.
