Spectators: 7922 (Terracing: 5987, Seating: 1835, VIP seats: 100) Rupert Varley made the kick off and thus started the match. In the 5th minute, Rupert Varley left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Whitworth fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. THFC Youth Academy's Kevin Tonkin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rupert Varley in the 14th minute of play. In the 16thth minute of the game Rupert Varley who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but THFC Youth Academy's Kevin Tonkin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Whitworth booed when THFC Youth Academy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Blower didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tyrone Maylett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kevin Tonkin having to interfere. After a rather tough play, THFC Youth Academy's Alexander Bolton got a free kick in the 19th minute. In the 22nd match minute, Whitworth was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jerome Osbon to maneuver through the defense. With his leg Iain Armstrong managed to avoid a goal in the 23rdth minute, when THFC Youth Academy's Rupert Courtney fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Kevin Tonkin came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Whitworth's Rupert Varley. But to his dismay, Rupert Varley quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Kevin Tonkin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rupert Varley in the 29th minute of the match. Rupert Varley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Kevin Tonkin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Rupert Varley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tyrone Maylett's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kevin Tonkin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. A collision led to THFC Youth Academy getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Alex Blower hit a great ball. Tyrone Maylett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 45th minute Rupert Varley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kevin Tonkin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tyrone Maylett recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Stuart Osbourn made a kick off. Whitworth's Tyrone Maylett was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 52nd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Iain Armstrong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stuart Osbourn in the 56th minute of play. When Jerome Osbon fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Whitworth's protests and gave Jerome Osbon a yellow card for diving instead. After 57 played minutes Whitworth got a freekick which was hit by Jerome Osbon. 58 minutes into the match, THFC Youth Academy's Rod Gill broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Stuart Osbourn might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Iain Armstrong. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Stuart Osbourn ran back to his position shaking his head. Tyrone Maylett recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tyrone Maylett succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-5 in the 75th playminute. In the 79th minute, Alex Blower made a precise shot to the right of Iain Armstrong. Whitworth's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-5. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Tyrone Maylett managed to get in a good position for a shot. Whitworth's supporters rose to their feet, but Tyrone Maylett was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kevin Tonkin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Rupert Varley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Rupert Varley came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Whitworth fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rupert Varley couldn't finish the play.
