With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rupert Varley in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ryan Harper saved Watton-at-Stone from getting behind. Ryan Harper showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rupert Varley in the 25th minute of the match. If Gordon Blake had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Whitworth's Tyrone Maylett got a free kick in the 29th minute. 31 minutes into the match, Watton-at-Stone's goal looked a bit too open when Rupert Varley came free, but Ryan Harper reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A nice corner shot did that Rupert Ingram got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Ryan Harper quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Gordon Blake sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 41st minute, Kris Winterbine left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Watton-at-Stone fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. If Kris Winterbine had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Watton-at-Stone's defense didn't have a chance, in the 47th minute, when Tyrone Maylett scored to the left of an out of position Ryan Harper, making the score, 1-1. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 53rd match minute, Whitworth was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gary Kyle to maneuver through the defense. Ryan Harper made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rupert Varley in the 56th minute of play. If Gordon Blake had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. With a little luck, Whitworth's Iain Armstrong got control of the ball when Sean Chambers tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 64th minute Tyrone Maylett shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ryan Harper saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jerome Osbon charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 75th minute, Tyrone Maylett made a precise shot to the right of Ryan Harper. Watton-at-Stone's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. 80 minutes into the game, Kris Winterbine lined in a short shot 2-2 behind a frustrated Iain Armstrong. 83 minutes into the game, Nial Clough cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Ryan Harper was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Philip Cornforth kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. In the 98th match minute, Whitworth was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leroy Deakin to maneuver through the defense.
