Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Rupert Varley made the kick off which started today's match. Billie Morses short, quick shot in the 3rdth minute got Iain Armstrong to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Calvin Hardcastle scored 1-0 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Iain Armstrong, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Iain Armstrong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Billie Morse in the 13th minute of play. If Jerome Osbon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 20th minute Calvin Hardcastle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iain Armstrong saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Billie Morse's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Iain Armstrong read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. Jamie Dobson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tyrone Maylett in the 22nd minute of play. In the 27th minute, Billie Morse got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Calvin Hardcastle in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Iain Armstrong prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tyrone Maylett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Billie Morse struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Iain Armstrong didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Smallfield FC. When Louis Ashby fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Smallfield FC's protests and gave Louis Ashby a yellow card for diving instead. In the 38th match minute, Smallfield FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Louis Ashby to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rupert Varley in the 40th minute of play forced Smallfield FC's goalkeeper Jamie Dobson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tyrone Maylett in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jamie Dobson saved Smallfield FC from getting behind. Jamie Dobson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tyrone Maylett in the 45th minute of play. After having played for 48 minutes, Mark Pilkington managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Smallfield FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mark Pilkington was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Billie Morse in the 52nd minute of play forced Whitworth's goalkeeper Iain Armstrong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 53 minutes, Mark Pilkington managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Smallfield FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mark Pilkington was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 58 minutes of play, Smallfield FC's Calvin Hardcastle made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Iain Armstrong was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jamie Dobson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nial Clough in the 61st minute of play. Nial Clough charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nial Clough the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a defensive mix-up in Whitworth's zone, Calvin Hardcastle stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iain Armstrong came out of the goal and Calvin Hardcastle tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 66th match minute, Whitworth was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nial Clough to maneuver through the defense. In the 68th match minute, Smallfield FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thom Deighton to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Jerome Osbon kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jamie Dobson. That made the score 2-1 in the 69 minute of play. Smallfield FC's Jamie Dobson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nial Clough in the 72nd minute of play. Iain Armstrong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Billie Morse in the 76th minute of play. In the 76th match minute, Whitworth was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nial Clough to maneuver through the defense. After 78 minutes of play, Smallfield FC's Mark Pilkington made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Iain Armstrong was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Billie Morse in the 82nd minute of play forced Whitworth's goalkeeper Iain Armstrong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Billie Morse scored 4-1 in the 90th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Iain Armstrong, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Smallfield FC had played much better football throughout.
