Spectators: 7909 (Terracing: 5977, Seating: 1832, VIP seats: 100) THFC Youth Academy's Stuart Osbourn started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marty Gale during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ryan Harper made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stuart Osbourn in the 5th minute of play. In the 5th minute, Marty Gale hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marty Gale hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. A hard shot by Rod Gill from long distance, 8 minutes into the match, got Ryan Harper's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Rupert Courtney received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Ryan Harper tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Gordon Blake had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 19th minute Gordon Blake shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kevin Tonkin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Kris Winterbine's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kevin Tonkin was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. Ryan Harper made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rupert Courtney in the 28th minute. Ryan Harper showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stuart Osbourn in the 29th minute of the match. Alexander Bolton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ryan Harper having to interfere. Stuart Osbourn might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ryan Harper. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Stuart Osbourn ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 34th minute Sean Chambers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kevin Tonkin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kevin Tonkin came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by Watton-at-Stone's Kris Winterbine. But to his dismay, Kris Winterbine quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. 40 minutes into the match, Gordon Blake notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of THFC Youth Academy's Kevin Tonkin. Kevin Tonkin was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Kevin Tonkin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kris Winterbine, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Sean Chambers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The THFC Youth Academy players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Watton-at-Stone were winning 0-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kris Winterbine to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Alexander Bolton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Kris Winterbine had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gordon Blake's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kevin Tonkin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. Kevin Tonkin came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by Watton-at-Stone's Sean Chambers. But to his dismay, Sean Chambers quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. 65 minutes into the match, THFC Youth Academy's goalkeeper Kevin Tonkin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sean Chambers. Kris Winterbine sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. THFC Youth Academy's Kevin Tonkin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save THFC Youth Academy from getting a goal against them. Sean Chambers struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Kevin Tonkin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Watton-at-Stone. Kevin Tonkin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kris Winterbine in the 70th minute of play. Gordon Blake fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kevin Tonkin having to interfere. Gordon Blake sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. THFC Youth Academy's Kevin Tonkin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kris Winterbine in the 84th minute of play. Kris Winterbine struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Kevin Tonkin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Watton-at-Stone. In the 91st match minute, Watton-at-Stone was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marty Gale to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the THFC Youth Academy defense, Sean Chambers kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kevin Tonkin. The THFC Youth Academy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kevin Tonkin should have stopped the shot. Watton-at-Stone played a much better game than THFC Youth Academy and deserved their victory. The THFC Youth Academy players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
