The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute of the match Basil Payne shot from a long distance. Rory Lawson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Philip Branch in the 11th minute of play. After 12 played minutes FC Siauliai City got a freekick which was hit by Basil Payne. In the 15th minute Austin Marchant shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rory Lawson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dennis Robson's late challenge caught a FC Siauliai City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dennis Robson helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of FC Siauliai City booed when Junior Owls Project was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dennis Robson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Junior Owls Project's Sebastian Gurney played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nathanial Norton in the 18th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Junior Owls Project's zone, Nathanial Norton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sebastian Gurney came out of the goal and Nathanial Norton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sebastian Gurney made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kris Baker in the 24th minute of play. Kev Hazledine in the 29thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Rory Lawson, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Junior Owls Project's Dennis Robson got his second yellow card of the match in the 30th minute. The referee ordered Dennis Robson off the ground. Dennis Robson hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. In the 32nd minute Kris Baker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastian Gurney saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rory Lawson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kev Hazledine in the 35th minute. Rory Lawson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Philip Branch in the 39th minute of the match. The referee ignored Junior Owls Project's protests and gave Austin Marchant a yellow card for diving instead. Austin Marchant hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Austin Marchant in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rory Lawson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ray Scriven hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Sebastian Gurney took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kris Baker, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Kev Hazledine's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rory Lawson was relentless in the 79th minute of the game.
