Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Stu Jordan got the match started through his kick off. In the 5th minute Jerry Lamb shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but George Green saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 6th minute, Dane Beaver made a precise shot to the right of Donny Phimister. East Molesey's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Duncan Draper received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Donny Phimister came out and tried to block the shot, but Duncan Draper slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 17th minute. Mattias McCartney scored 3-0 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Donny Phimister, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Donny Phimister made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dane Beaver in the 23rd minute. Stu Jordan struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. George Green didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for East Molesey. 27 minutes into the game, Stu Jordan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. George Green was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 32 minutes into the game, East Molesey's Stu Jordan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. George Green made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. George Green took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stu Jordan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. George Green showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stu Jordan in the 43rd minute of the match. Gav Knight-Percival got a throw-in 45 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Duncan Draper. Sidney Stonehouse hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Runcorn's Duncan Draper got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The score stood at 3-3 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Donny Phimister stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Duncan Draper's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. In the 55th minute, Mattias McCartney hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jerry Lamb received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. George Green tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 59th minute, East Molesey's Stu Jordan ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind George Green. George Green yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-4. Seth Haywood kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. 63 minutes into the match, East Molesey's Sidney Stonehouse broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 64 minutes into the match, Runcorn's goal looked a bit too open when Stu Jordan came free, but George Green reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 66th minute, East Molesey's Dion Culverhouse seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Dion Culverhouse the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of East Molesey protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Dion Culverhouse had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. A collision led to East Molesey getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Dion Culverhouse hit a great ball. In the 70th minute, Mattias McCartney ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Donny Phimister was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-4. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Stu Jordan in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg George Green saved Runcorn from getting behind. When Sidney Stonehouse fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored East Molesey's protests and gave Sidney Stonehouse a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Runcorn booed when East Molesey was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sidney Stonehouse didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 81st minute of the match Duncan Draper sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Donny Phimister skillfully saved the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Noel Pitts managed to get in a good position for a shot. East Molesey's supporters rose to their feet, but Noel Pitts was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. George Green breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 87 played minutes Runcorn got a freekick which was hit by Mattias McCartney. Mattias McCartney took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Donny Phimister. Donny Phimister dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-4. East Molesey's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Runcorn had won, even though East Molesey had held more of the ball.
