Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Dane Beaver kicked off to start the match. In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind Dunton Green United's goalkeeper Luke Goodwick, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Runcorn's Austin Holdsworth got a free kick in the 9th minute. Andre Lappin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Andre Lappin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luke Goodwick made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fraser Westlake in the 19th minute of play. George Green showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Steve Shephard, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. George Green took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andre Lappin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 28 minutes of play, Dunton Green United's Edward Silvester made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. George Green was left in no man's land by his defense there! Edward Silvester fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without George Green having to interfere. 36 minutes into the match, Runcorn's goal looked a bit too open when Edward Silvester came free, but George Green reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 37th minute Rufus Stansfield shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but George Green saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 43 minutes into the match, Runcorn's goal looked a bit too open when Andre Lappin came free, but George Green reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edward Silvester to strike the kick off in the second half. Andre Lappin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without George Green having to interfere. Dunton Green United's Luke Goodwick played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dane Beaver in the 56th minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 57th minute by Andre Lappin got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. When Andre Lappin came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Dunton Green United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andre Lappin couldn't finish the play. 63 minutes into the game, Edward Silvester recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of George Green. Edward Silvester showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. In the 75th match minute, Runcorn was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Charles Cookson to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Runcorn's Gwyn Wybrow got a free kick in the 76th minute. 78 minutes into the match, Andre Lappin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of George Green. Runcorn's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Andre Lappin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. With a little luck, Runcorn's George Green got control of the ball when Andre Lappin tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 92nd minute, Dunton Green United's Caleb Wadham ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind George Green. George Green yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-5. The Dunton Green United supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Dunton Green United would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
