Laurence Baldwin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cody Ashby, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 18 minutes, Rufus Christensen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Longridge AFC and the Burntwood Foresters players grew even worse after the yellow card. Rufus Christensen kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Rhys Toovey hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. In the 23rd match minute, Longridge AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Curtis Beevers to maneuver through the defense. 28 minutes into the match, Longridge AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Cody Ashby came free, but Laurence Baldwin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Burntwood Foresters's Garry Corby in the 29th minute got a chance for a shot 29th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A very good chance. 39 minutes into the match, Longridge AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Cody Ashby came free, but Laurence Baldwin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Burntwood Foresters's Cody Ashby slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Laurence Baldwin. That made the score 2-0 after 41 minutes of play. Kev Kellaway's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Laurence Baldwin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 48 minutes, Laurence Baldwin successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cody Ashby stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, Longridge AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Loyd Holyfield to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cody Ashby in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Laurence Baldwin saved Longridge AFC from getting behind. Rufus Christensen kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Laurence Baldwin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cody Ashby, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Laurence Baldwin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Garry Corby in the 65th minute of the match. Longridge AFC's Laurence Baldwin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cody Ashby in the 68th minute of play. Ronny Attwood recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cody Ashby sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Ashley Hendley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Cody Ashby's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Laurence Baldwin was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. Laurence Baldwin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cody Ashby, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 90th minute Cody Ashby shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Laurence Baldwin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 94 minutes, Cody Ashby managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Burntwood Foresters's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cody Ashby was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 96th minute, Cody Ashby got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Burntwood Foresters walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
