The audience was convinced that Mattias Cartwright's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Stuart Sawyer was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. 17 minutes into the game, Henry Malpeli was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Beverley Saints F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave The White Rovers the free kick. The supporters of The White Rovers booed when Beverley Saints F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henry Malpeli didn't get a good kick on the ball. Stuart Sawyer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Doug Walker, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Stuart Sawyer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Dlyan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 22nd minute Joel Dlyan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stuart Sawyer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ritchie Gale's late challenge caught a The White Rovers's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ritchie Gale helped the player get up and apologised. Ritchie Gale kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. After 24 minutes, Mattias Cartwright mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the The White Rovers and the Beverley Saints F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Beverley Saints F.C. booed when The White Rovers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mattias Cartwright didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 27th minute, Ritchie Gale got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Through an outstanding action, after 29 minutes, Francis Gurney successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 32 minutes, Mattias Cartwright made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Beverley Saints F.C.'s Stuart Sawyer tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Stuart Sawyer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mattias Cartwright in the 35th minute of the match. If Joel Dlyan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Mattias Cartwright got in the 40th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Stuart Sawyer handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. If Joel Dlyan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joel Dlyan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Joel Dlyan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Stuart Sawyer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joel Dlyan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Beverley Saints F.C.'s Travis McGrath got a free kick in the 57th minute. Joel Dlyan took the ball and in the 60 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Stuart Sawyer. Stuart Sawyer dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. During the 64th minute of the match Ritchie Gale completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Ritchie Gale a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Ritchie Gale kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. The long shot by Doug Walker in the 67th minute really tested Stuart Sawyer's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The White Rovers's attack was well implemented in the 70th minute, but when Mattias Cartwright was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. Mattias Cartwright in the 73rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Stuart Sawyer, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Nick Rushforth kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. 79 minutes into the match, Beverley Saints F.C.'s Samuel Evans sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Francis Gurney narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Stuart Sawyer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mattias Cartwright in the 80th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Beverley Saints F.C.'s zone, Mattias Cartwright stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stuart Sawyer came out of the goal and Mattias Cartwright tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mattias Cartwright received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Stuart Sawyer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 94 minutes into the game, The White Rovers's Mattias Cartwright nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Stuart Sawyer made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. The White Rovers's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
