In the 15th minute Lucas Cambridge shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Freddie Meehan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The corner ended in Martyn Branch almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ninfield's Freddie Meehan did a great save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martyn Branch in the 21st minute of play forced Ninfield's goalkeeper Freddie Meehan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Steve Clarke hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. In the 24th minute Martyn Branch shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Freddie Meehan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Tris Gardner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
