Seating: 1836, VIP seats: 159) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Lucas Cambridge got the match started through his kick off. Samuel Evans's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 4thth minute, Teddy Lucas skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Great Addington's Teddy Lucas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tommy Clarkson in the 5th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tris Gardner in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Stuart Sawyer prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Matthew Hampton kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Tris Gardner scored 0-1 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Stuart Sawyer, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Stuart Sawyer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucas Cambridge, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 27 minutes, Lucas Cambridge managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Great Addington's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lucas Cambridge was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucas Cambridge in the 28th minute of play forced Beverley Saints F.C.'s goalkeeper Stuart Sawyer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Martyn Branch was slow to take the kick. During this time Great Addington's players had a chance to rest. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Beverley Saints F.C.'s goalie and right to Wes Rain. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Beverley Saints F.C.'s manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Tris Gardner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stuart Sawyer having to interfere. After the first half Great Addington were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tommy Clarkson was the one to do the kick off. Jim Branson hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Stuart Sawyer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucas Cambridge, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tommy Clarkson in the 63rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Teddy Lucas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ritchie Gale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teddy Lucas having to interfere. If Lucas Cambridge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ritchie Gale in the 69th minute of play forced Great Addington's goalkeeper Teddy Lucas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Beverley Saints F.C.'s Tommy Clarkson got a free kick in the 70th minute. In the 72nd minute, Samuel Evans left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Beverley Saints F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in Beverley Saints F.C.'s zone, Tris Gardner stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stuart Sawyer came out of the goal and Tris Gardner tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jim Branson charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jim Branson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 76th minute, Jim Branson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 78th minute Samuel Evans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teddy Lucas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Great Addington getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Matthew Hampton hit a great ball. Matthew Hampton's late challenge caught a Beverley Saints F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Matthew Hampton helped the player get up and apologised. Matthew Hampton kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ritchie Gale in the 84th minute of play forced Great Addington's goalkeeper Teddy Lucas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stuart Sawyer was out of position in the 86 minute of play, and Tris Gardner capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Tris Gardner really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. Lucas Cambridge's late challenge caught a Beverley Saints F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lucas Cambridge helped the player get up and apologised. Lucas Cambridge kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. After 90 minutes of play Beverley Saints F.C.'s Jim Branson was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Great Addington booed when Beverley Saints F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jim Branson didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpected shot in the 93rd minute by Lucas Cambridge got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After 95 played minutes Beverley Saints F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Samuel Evans. The Great Addington supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Great Addington would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
