Jacob Clare didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Beverley Saints F.C.. After 16 played minutes Wembley City got a freekick which was hit by Neil Carr. Tommy Clarkson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacob Clare having to interfere. Rowan Salmon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stuart Sawyer having to interfere. The supporters of Wembley City booed when Beverley Saints F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jimmy Ackroyd didn't get a good kick on the ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rowan Salmon to make the kick off. If Rowan Salmon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Samuel Evans sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rowan Salmon in the 57th minute of play forced Beverley Saints F.C.'s goalkeeper Stuart Sawyer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julian Edworthy's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Stuart Sawyer read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. 59 minutes into the game, Lenny Horner was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Beverley Saints F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wembley City the free kick. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Tommy Clarkson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Beverley Saints F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Tommy Clarkson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jacob Clare breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Stuart Sawyer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Den Cookson in the 80th minute of the match. The tension between the Beverley Saints F.C. and the Wembley City players grew even worse after the yellow card.
